How it actually gets made
Engineering habits die hard. I test, I fail, I write down what the kiln did, and I do it again. Here's the shape of it.
01
Look for a long time
Before anything else I photograph, sit with, and measure the space or the material. Most of the decisions get made here, before a brush is involved.

Test small, fail cheap
Panel studies, glass test tiles, glaze chips. Twenty years of research engineering taught me that a failed experiment on a two-inch tile is free and a failed wall is not.

Commit at scale
Then it's just labor — chalk, lift, brush, kiln schedule, repeat. This is the slow part, and it's my favorite part.

Let it leave
A finished piece belongs to whoever lives with it. I hand it over, and then I go find out what it looks like in their light.

Walls, windows, gifts, memorials. If you have a space and a feeling but no plan yet, that's a normal place to start.
