Exterior mural - Sheetrock - Columbus, OH - 2026

God Loves You

I designed the wall so that the bottom four feet could be painted by anyone tall enough to hold a brush. That part isn't decoration — it's the structure.

The God Loves You mural on the white gable end of a church, floodlit at night beneath a gold cross. Hand-lettered script reads "loves you …and always will." above the Spanish "Dios te ama para siempre."

Location

Westminster Presbyterian Church, Columbus Ohio

Scale

30x12ft

Duration

2 weeks

The brief

Make room for other hands

They wanted a mural about growth. I wanted the kids in it, not just depicted in it — so the composition puts every reachable surface in their hands.

Workshops

Sixty painters, one wall

Numbered zones, pre-mixed color, and one rule: you sign the back of your own petal. Chaos, but the good kind.

Finishing

Where I came in

I did the upper canopy and the linework that ties their sections together, then left every one of their edges visible. Cleaning those up would have missed the point.

After

A wall they own

Two years on, it hasn't been tagged once. Kids don't deface something they helped make — that's the most reliable anti-graffiti coating there is.

Unveiling

How it landed

My daughter takes every visitor to see “her” flower. She painted one petal.
