Photographing the actual river
I took two hundred pictures of the same stretch of water over a month. What I was after wasn't the shape of a wave — it was the way a reflection breaks and reassembles.

A room people stay in
It changes with the lobby lights through the day, which was the point. Morning it's cold and quiet; by late afternoon it's almost gold.
